One of the biggest problems my clients face is “How do I fix my diet while out of town or out of the country?” and honestly? It’s simpler than you think. Our Diet Hacks series will cover this from which restaurants to go, what dishes to order and why to order them.

So just a bit of a preview, the common misconception regarding eating healthy is that you have to avoid carbs. You get to hear it every now and then that carbohydrates are the enemy and that could be further from the truth. In fact, all three macronutrients : Protein, Fat and Carbs are equally important.

Carbs

Carbohydrates is our body’s main source of fuel since it gives us glucose which is our body’s primary energy source.

Protein

Protein on the other hand is utilized by our body to build and repair tissues. It’s also utilized by our body to produce enzymes and hormones.

Fat

Fat on the other hand is not as bad as it seems as Fat allows our body to store fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K. Fat is also the source of essential fatty acids which is utilized by our body for brain development.

So yes, all three macronutrients have their respective uses and it doesn’t make sense to remove any one of them from your diet! Watch out for our official episode 1 release soon!
